In January 2003 Water Craft Magazine, number 37, published details of Derek Munnion's fast single-seater sailing canoe. As a result he received requests for building plans. Now, having carried out extensive trials resulting in minor adjustments to the original design, he has produced a beautiful set of detailed plans suitable for amateurs and professionals alike.

Study Plans comprising three drawings along with construction notes outlining materials and building requirements can be obtained for £4.00, including postage worldwide. A full set of plans consisting of six A2 drawings and building instructions may be purchased for £40.00, inclusive of postage within the UK. Add £3.00 for the USA, Europe and elsewhere.

Concept plan.

Sharpy can be transported on top of a car; she has an easily detachable drop keel which provides self-righting and she is steered by a foot pedal. There is no need for acrobatics, as the crew remains comfortably seated in the cockpit, which means she can be sailed in safety by both young and old. She is no slouch, as has been proven when compared with Toppers and Mirrors.
