Introduction
I had hoped to be the first
person to build a Paradox cruiser from a kit, but
Alec Jordan of Jordan Boats was unable to sort out
a few technical problems he had with producing the
kit. In time, I hope these difficulties will be
overcome, because a kit version of the little boat
could make her even more popular with amateur
builders.
The
Beginning
I commenced building my
Paradox early in August, 2005 and within a month I
finished the deck beams, cabin beams and hatch
beams; I also made the rudder, stock and
tiller.
During the winter I
hibernated, and when spring of 2006 arrived I
continued building. I took July and August off and
resumed building in September. By early June 2007
the boat was finished and ready for her sea
trials.
See the Galleries for more information.
Because my garage is only 8'
4" wide I had little room in which to build the
boat; therefore I made all the small items before
assembling the hull.
