These pictures illustrate the cleverness of Keith Holdworth's design.

On such a short overall length, the hull has been given a wide beam to maintain stability and carrying capacity. Maximum speed is attained by utilizing the longest possible waterline length. At the same time Keith has been able to give the boat a stem bow which enables her to slice through the waves. Those side decks help to keep spray out and give opportunity for hiking. The mizzen is ideal for heaving-to - once the main has been dropped. It can also be used when at anchor to enable 'Flying Pig' to lie to the wind, which lessens the tendency to roll.
