John Welsford sent me an e-mail on 15th October 2003 in which he stated the following:

This is a big open boat, about as big as I think is practical for an open cruiser in terms of being able to recover from a swamping. I put a lot of buoyancy in her to help but thats still an awful lot of buckets full of water.

Anyway, I am happy with the design, the first boats sail very well, are extremely stable and have a huge amount of space in them. There is a group beginning to form in Auckland near here who have a couple of Navigators, two Houdinis and two builders of these among their numbers, the intention being to form a division of the Dinghy Cruising Association.

I've suggested that linking up with yourself would be worthwhile and provide the readers with some interesting accounts.
