Those who have been following my sporadic blog will know that I am hoping to cruise from Essex to Cornwall in 'Faith' my Paradox sailboat starting in April. For as long as I am engaged in this activity there will be no updates to the web site; therefore I ask you to be patient until my return which may be sooner rather than later, but we'll see. Much will depend on the vagaries of the weather and upon my physical fitness. I shall need considerable determination to make it to Plymouth in time for the start of the Artemis Transat Race on 11th May which will be a great spectacle to watch. Al Law sailing his Paradox, 'Little Jim' may be able to meet me at Plymouth, and from there we may turn our boats westwards towards the Scilly Isles . Last year we wanted to sail in company from Falmouth to the Islands, but the weather was uncooperative; instead we sailed with the wind up Channel to Exmouth over a period of several days. That proved to be an excellent cruise.
In the past when cruising I have written up my daily log for publication at my blog and it is my hope I shall be able to do the same this year, but instead of uploading the log on a daily basis I'll only be able to do it whenever I'm on dry land at a Hotspot. I appreciate this is not so convenient for those who follow my progress or lack of it, but the plain fact is I cannot afford the cost of refreshing the blog each day.
Assuming Al and I make it to the Scillies we'll want to be back in Plymouth by the 31st May to watch the start of the Jester Azores Challenge Race .
I hope you will enjoy reading the account of my adventures aboard 'Faith' but here I'll make an apology in advance should you find updates a long time in coming. If they don't materialize it will be because of technical problems with my Asus EEE laptop computer - most likely not the computer itself, but difficulties in finding suitable Hotspots.
Just a short note to let you know the Web Links have been updated. Enjoy your surfing.
Happy boating,
Bill.
