Pandora

At Dover Harbour after returning from Holland.     Launching Apple Charlotte from the Up River Yacht Club slipway.     Rafted with other Yacht Club boats at Dover Harbour.

My Pandora, 'Apple Charlotte', was designed by Van de Stadt for GRP construction.  Although comparatively a small boat she was very dry - one of those rare yachts that did not throw spray over the deck when hard-pressed on the wind.  She was built soundly with not a drop of water ever entering the interior through the hull by way of fittings.  Any dry boat is one to be cherished and I valued and rated her highly.

My brother Fred and I cruised her to Holland via the French and Belgium coast.  After exploring the Dutch canals and inland waters we returned to the River Crouch without mishap.

'Apple Charlotte' (not the name I would have chosen, but one given to her by the original owner) served me well at racing.  She was extremely close-winded and very fast for her 22 ft overall length.
