'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.' (2 Timothy 3:16,17)

Purpose of this Web Site

The main purpose of this web site is to glorify Jesus Christ by focussing on His word, the Bible, and relating it to everyday life.

The content mostly comes from articles I wrote when I was a member of an Evangelical Church. They were published in the church magazine, but because only members received them, the idea occurred for me to make the articles available to a wider public. By doing so, I hoped readers may be encouraged to walk with God in their daily lives.

The Reality of Christ as Portrayed in the Bible

For Christians, Jesus Christ is pre-eminent - He is everything to them. He has saved them from an eternity of suffering in hell and He has given them everlasting life. Those who believe the Bible to be truly inspired of God, although written by men, 'know' that what it proclaims is fact. Its truth is more solid, more concrete and more real than anything that can be touched, seen, heard, tasted or smelt.

Not only does God proclaim Himself through His created world and the universe, but He gives us a sure knowledge of Himself through His written word, the Bible. This Book is a guide for human conduct as God would have us live, i.e., to live for Him and glorify Him. It is a book in two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament - comprised of 66 books penned over centuries, but all interrelated. Its central theme is Christ Jesus.

The Bible can teach us to 'fear God' and gain 'wisdom', which is knowledge of Him. We can discover how to live with the Holy Spirit as our Guide and Comforter. We can experience firsthand, the love of God and what He has determined for our well-being and comfort. God's Book contains information how to deal with every conceivable situation, from extreme tribulation, pain, loss, grief, to marriage relationships, management of children, education, and love. This information is bang-up-to-date and can answer questions about moral issues posed by modern science, things like cloning, organ donation, genetically modified foods and space travel. It is a book that transcends time and is for all generations.

A Christian's Life and Future after Death

A Christian does not see life through rose-tinted glasses; neither does he lounge in a feather beds, but he knows his life will be difficult and demanding. To follow Jesus will inevitably mean conflict with the 'world', i.e., those who do not follow Him, because His ways are not the ways of the world. But a Christian's life is one of joy in the knowledge of salvation, because of the triumphant life of the resurrected Jesus. By His resurrection, His miracles and His sinless life, Jesus has proven His power to give us a new eternal life now and after our temporal one on earth. In preparation for that eternal life He gives the 'deposit' of the Holy Spirit who dwells in all who have been born again.

Christ's Return to Earth

When Christians die, their souls shall instantly be with Jesus, but on 'The Day of the Lord' (the day when He returns to the earth) their bodies will be reconstituted into spiritual ones and they shall rise from the dead - even from dust or ashes! Their souls and new bodies will be united. If Jesus comes while they are still alive, they will be transformed without experiencing death!

A Prayer

It is my prayer that those who read these words will be challenged by them to study the Bible, and that Jesus will grant them His grace to live in conformity with His commands and love.

He enables this by giving new spiritual life to those who are 'dead' in trespasses and sin. People so enlivened by the Holy Spirit are able to please God the Father, because of His gift of faith in His Son. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

The sinless Son of God, having completed His work on earth, awaits at the Father's right hand for the salvation of many. Amen.
